Policy & Program Overview

🎯 Purpose

The Youth Entrepreneur Program exists to nurture the next generation of makers, creators, and small‑business owners. It provides young people with a supportive, low‑barrier opportunity to learn business skills, gain real‑world experience, and contribute to the vibrant culture of Village Markets.

👥 Eligibility

• Open to young people aged 12–18 years.
• Approved Participants must operate a stall selling handmade, home‑grown, or self‑designed products.
• A parent/guardian must be present for participants during market times.
• Market policies and guidelines apply

💲 Stallholder Fee Structure

To ensure fairness and accessibility:

• Youth Rate: A reduced flat fee $25.00 discount
• Same fee for all youth participants — no case‑by‑case exceptions.
• Fee must be paid in advance like all other stallholders.

🛠️ Program Benefits

• Access to optional learning resources (pricing tips, display ideas, customer service basics).
• Eligibility for the Annual Young Entrepreneur Spotlight, celebrating standout participants.

📋 Stall Requirements

• Stall setup must meet all standard Village Markets safety and presentation guidelines.
• Products must be created or designed by the young entrepreneur.
• Youth must be present at the stall for the majority of the market day.

🤝 Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

• Ensure safe setup and pack‑down.
• Support youth with payments, transport, and supervision.
• Allow the young entrepreneur to lead customer interactions wherever possible.

📅 Attendance & Cancellations

• Standard cancellation policy applies.
• Repeated no‑shows may result in removal from the program to ensure fairness to other applicants.
